So being a member of a large family with a ton of nieces and nephews, I get roped into attending many (MANY) high school functions. The worst was Orchestra Fest...four hours of orchestra music all performed by kids grades 3 through 12. Not that I have anything against orchestra music but FOUR hours of it while smashed into the bleachers in the gym was not pleasant.
Last night, I had to go see my niece Jenna perform in the musical "Cats". Let me say I have always hated that musical. It's two hours of people dressed like cats singing songs that make no sense and dancing around in their best catlike way. Blah! But I actually enjoyed myself last night. What the show lacked in content, the kids made up for in shear enthusiasm. And Jenna was great! She was in the chorus and danced her tail off. So, it wasn't a bad way to spend the evening.
