This is a lazy Labor Day weekend. I've just been enjoying the last "real" weekend of summer and relishing the fact that I do not have to work tomorrow. I spent yesterday swimming at my sister's pool, sipping vodka and lemonade and, basically, just soaking in the sun. Maybe a little too much sun but eh...it was worth it.
Last night, however, was not good. My cats have decided they do not need sleep. Now that Arnie is well there is much tearing around the house and wrestling going on. For some reason, the desired wrestling spot is on top of me in the middle of the night. I shooed them out of the bedroom and closed the door. Later, when I had to get up to use the bathroom, they seemed to be sleeping so I left the door open again. My bad! It wasn't ten minutes and there they were again...on top of me...wrestling around. I shooed them out again and closed the door. A couple of hours later the door opened. Arnie has learned how to open the damn door! Right back on top of me...sheesh! This routine went on all night and I got next to no sleep.
Of course, today they are all drowsy and sleepy and being good as gold. I'm going to just crash pot and pans together or vacuum all day just to give them a dose of their own medicine. I love my cats but right now, in my sleep deprived state, I think they would both make great hats.

or oven mits
LOL! my two have scheduled fights...one at night before we go to bed and one midmorning. of coarse they are separated every night, my son gets one to sleep with and i get one. when we had 12 though it was a different story. it was mass chaos 24 hours a day...that's how we got into trouble, when i just couldn't stand it anymore i would open the door and just stand there until they were all out :) of coarse i sounded (and looked) a bit crazed at 11 at night when i'm going around the neighborhood calling them, catching them, two or three in each arm while they are still trying to kill each other :) I'm so glad arnie's back to normal...you don't really need sleep do you? besides he has to pay for all that attention he got because he was sick, you know that don't you? :)
Am getting caught up over the last 2 weeks - what a time of it you've had. Pour a tiny shot of vodka into their water, just to share, mind!
Van - oven mits would work.
Prin - 12?? 12?? No way!!!
Violet - I share my vodka with no man nor beast! LOL
