A calming aftermath....

I finally recovered from Thanksgiving week! Everything turned out A-okay with my niece's husband's surgery. He's fine. Crabby, but fine.

I was responsible for our Thanksgiving feast this year. I cooked the turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing. We also had sweet potatoes, corn pudding, oyster stuffing (yup...2 kinds of stuffing), green beans, cranberry/strawberry salad, mixed greens, bread rolls, assorted pickles and olives, apple pie, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and chocolate cherry bread pudding. I also made some mean Bloody Mary's! Honestly, once all of this stuff was cooked and ready to eat I couldn't stand to look at it anymore. In the middle of clean up, my mother's kitchen sink had a pipe burst. So there was water all over the kitchen floor and a ton of dirty dishes just sitting there. My sister went home, got her laundry baskets, loaded them full of dirty dishes and took them all home with her to wash! That was the easiest clean up (for me) ever! When I got home I rolled into bed and stayed there for most of the next day. Well, I did get out of bed. I just didn't get out of my pj's.

So now I am refreshed and renewed and have decided to head out to do some shopping. This being the biggest retail weekend of the year I'm sure this will be a testament to my will to survive. Ha!

Anyway, I know the kind of week I had. I hope you all had a very peaceful, lovely Thanksgiving.
