Yow...that'll wake you up!

I started the day with a bonk on the head. I was getting out of my car at work and for some unknown reason I just whacked the top of my head on the roof of my car. The stars were lovely! It was all pretty much down hill from there. LOL

I had the first meeting of the day with an employee who isn't cutting it at work. I had to discuss all of the things that she is screwing up and let her know that I didn't think there was all the time in the world for her to "get it". She wasn't happy. I ended up extending her probation period, gave her two work plans, and decided we'll see what happens. I know that sometimes when you give people enough rope they eventually hang themselves so I'm pretty sure that's what's going to happen here. She isn't getting the gist of this job, doesn't look like she will ever get it and I'm sure that between now and April 1 some divine miracle won't happen that will suddenly turn her into the employee of the month.

Later, another coworker biffed it in the hallway. She tripped on the crappy carpet and went down hard. She sprained both knees, hit her face on the wall causing a horrendous bloody nose and did something to her wrist when she landed. Luckily, we have nurses on staff who came to the rescue. She was off to the ER, patched up and sent back to complete the Workman's Comp forms. Her answer to the question "What have you learned from this experience?" was "I learned the agency needs new carpeting." LMAO

The rest of the day flew by. I had to go to the Pig for some groceries after work and the weather was incredible for a change so I didn't mind. I got what I needed and was loading it into the trunk of my car when the wind blew hard, blew the trunk down - right on top of my head where I bonked it earlier. I have a goose egg up there now.

I think there's something symbiotic about both starting and ending your day with a whack to the bean. It was like physical bookends to my day. Bookends that hurt like hell but bookends none the less!
