Not my normally charming self...

I got maybe an hour of solid sleep last night. That makes for a particularly churlish me today. I'm sitting at my desk and silently wishing everyone in this building would suddenly vaporize...pfffft....which would leave me alone in beautiful peace and quiet.

I've been getting things done in between bouts of Spider Solitaire and on-line shopping. Well, on-line window shopping anyway. I have managed to pick out some very cool clothes that I will order up as soon as I get paid. I had a good lunch. Something I packed myself. Watching what I eat means no fast food for me. So, I really shouldn't be in this bearish mood. But, what I really want to do, is go home and go back to bed. I'm tired. Tired inside and out.

I'm also feeling the downside of summer slipping away. Man, summer went by too damn fast this year. I still have things I want to do that require longer days and sunlight and I fear I am losing the chance to do them. I have not once eaten a Double Cheeseburger at Big Star this year. Seriously, I know that fast food and I just said I am avoiding it but if you live in Kenosha, WI and it's summer, you have GOT to go Big Star. It's one of the last drive in restaurants in the country! We have two in Kenosha - Big Star and The Spot. There is always a huge argument over which is better. And I love them both but Big Star closes for the season on Labor Day weekend - next week! The Spot is open all year round. So, this week, I have to go there. I have to!

I haven't been to the Ren Faire either. Next week is the last week for that too. So, I will miss that altogether which stinks! It's a fun summer thing to do and I've missed it. I've missed the Bike Races this year too. Kenosha has the nations oldest, open air velodrome and we have bike races, with international bike racing stars, here every Tuesday. I still may have a few more weeks to get that in.

Gah!! I need more time!! Slow down summer!!!
