Recovering...

I've been away. Not only away from Kenosha for a while but away from my usual routine. This has made my weight loss almost an impossibility. Oh, I had great goals set for myself. I had great aspirations of staying on track and getting plenty of exercise. Pffft! Didn't happen. Gained a ton. Ah, well. I'm back and it's been a chore. I think I lost my mojo but, hopefully, it will come back.

Let's see...what else...oh yes, there was an election. Sheesh! What the heck happened there? How did Feingold lose? What are the good people of Wisconsin thinking? Have they really read his record? I don't think there is a more conscientious man in Washington when it comes to minding his duties. So, we'll see what happens now. I'm getting a kick out of watching Alex watch this election unfold. It's interesting to see it through his eyes since he's only been in the US, well, less than a year! Ya gotta love some of the stuff coming out of the conservative media. I feel for our President. He's got a long road ahead of him now and, unfortunately, we're at the mercy of more political stand still. When did the US become so archaic and antiquated? We used to be relevant in this world. The true guiding arms reaching out to the troubled areas of the world. That's been so twisted now to further the purposes of an elite few and even our own poor and middle classes lose out. Shame really. We have the means to really make a difference and all we ever really do is make a fuss.

Hmmm, what else...oh yes...the weather. I know, it's a boring topic but here's the thing. Right now, it's cold but not cold enough. By that I mean, there is so much mold and crap blowing in the Autumn breeze that my seasonal allergies have risen up and are trying to kill me. I cough, I sneeze, I itch, my eyes water...I hate it. And it won't stop until we get that first hard frost. That first really cold night that kills it all off. No amount of Benadryl or Claritin can help me. I need Jack Frost. NOW!

Lastly, a couple of more things. I'm reading an interesting book right now called "Little Heathens: Hard Times on an Iowa Farm During the Great Depression". It's a charming book and many of the tales recounted remind me of my Dad who grew up on a farm in Iowa during the Great Depression. Also, remember my last post where I said I was starting to be awesome again? Well, I mentioned writing a Halloween song for a contest? Guess what! We won!! So, yeah, I'm awesome. Hahaha! With a little help (okay A LOT of help) from Alexander, I am truly awesome!

You may praise me now. LOL
