I've never considered myself a "girly girl". In fact, growing up, I was pretty much a tom-boy. Even now, all grown up, I don't spend hours on what I'm wearing or how I look each day. I would say I'm far more into comfort than fashion but that's not to say that I don't want to look good either.
I have short hair. I used to lust after the long hair all of my friends had. They could wear those cool hair do-dads to hold the bangs out of their eyes or they could swoop it all up into a pony tail and tie it up with those cute hair ties. I tried, when I was younger, to grow my hair out which was an experiment resulting in both frustration and the worst rat's nest on my head you've ever seen. So, over the years, I've learned to appreciate my stick straight hair cut short. Again, its comfortable and functional. But I want to look good too.
I've been putting off getting a hair cut until a time that I was hoping would be closer to our vacation but this morning when I woke up my hair had suddenly decided it was going to form itself into some odd looking helmet with short hairy wings popping out the back. That first look in the mirror was shocking, I tell ya! I got right on the phone and called up my stylist. I begged her to squeeze me in today. Luckily, she had room and I was able to go get that helmet cut and styled. I feel so much better. And I look so much better too!
By the way, my stylist is Megan Stancato at Carol's Main Street in Kenosha, WI. She is amazing and can really cut and color hair! If you're ever in town, I highly recommend giving her a call but call ahead (not like I did!) because she's so good she gets pretty busy!
