Putting things into perspective...

This week hasn't been an easy one for me. I started to feel sick on Saturday night. By Sunday I was in the middle of a horrible summer cold. My head and chest were congested and breathing was difficult. I felt like crap the next day too and stayed home from work. Tuesday, I got to work only to turn around and come home. Again, today was the same. I'm coughing and hacking and feeling like shit.

But yesterday a tornado tore through Oklahoma and ripped out the homes and hearts of the people there. And next week my sweet husband has to travel thousands of miles alone to bury his mother who passed away last week. By comparison, my cold is nothing and I feel very small complaining about it.

Life has a funny way of putting things into perspective, doesn't it?
