Ugh....

I'm feeling really fat today. I know this week hasn't been a banner week in terms of eating healthy and, man, am I feeling it now. I've decided to fast this weekend. Nothing but juice, water and tea for me. I do that once in a while and it really helps me get back on track and feel better again. It also cleans out my system but I won't go into that here. I have battled my weight for almost my whole life. I hate that I have but it's what I had to do. I would love to be one of those chicks that can eat whatever they want, whenever they want and never gain an ounce. I'm the type that just thinks about french fries and the next day my jeans don't fit. Thing is, I've got stuff I want to do and I want to do it healthy so...juice, tea, water before I get that call from Goodyear trying to book my ass for the Super Bowl!

Today was a bit strange. Work was really rather boring for a change! LOL And I got free clothes which was nice. A friend of mine did some spring cleaning and she brought in two bags of really nice blouses and tops that she has barely worn! Of course, I snapped some of them up! Nothing like free clothes to make me smile. It doesn't hurt that this friend has excellent taste and spares no expense when it comes to her wardrobe. I'll be styling!

Tonight, it was a short night at my mom's house for dinner. My turn to cook meant take out ribs. (Thus, the weekend fasting...) Everyone was pissy and tired so it was one hand of cards and we all went home. I spent some quality time with the cats who are, at this very moment, sitting at the end of the couch watching my every move. It's unnerving. I think they want something. Eventually their little eyes will become too heavy and they'll be forced to lie down and sleep. I can see Brigitte blinking right now.

Anyway, Friday was uneventful. Sometimes though, that's the kind of day I need.

w00t! First of all, it's Friday, 'nuff said.

The week went well and ended on a high note. Alex got high marks in his class at Bergh's and even helped a classmate pass so that was exciting! I know how hard he worked on the last assignments and how stressed he felt that he just wasn't getting it. Turned out, he was and I'm so proud of him.

My work went well. No unexpected surprises and everyone was in a good mood no doubt induced by the presence of the sun. I know that has helped my mood incredibly.

Ate dinner at my Mom's. My sister Verda cooked, tuna casserole...blech...but the company was good. We played the obligatory hand of Canasta (I lost) and all was well. My brother is a complete nut. He kept insisting that his head was shrinking. This was even funnier because he is completely bald and he kept rubbing his head with both hands and a very worried look on his face. Also got a good laugh at my sister Terry, who gets all her information on everything from her customers at the hair salon, trying to explain the purpose of the upcoming tax rebate checks we are all going to be getting. She starts almost every sentence with "well, the husband of one of my ladies says..." so you know it has to be true.

Came home and decided to make myself a very good drink and read some and listen to the very cool stuff on my iPod. Nice way to end a week. Here comes the weekend! w00t!

Ahhhh, Friday....

There's nothing that having a fresh salmon dinner with my family followed by copious amounts of good wine and glogg can't fix.
