The Unbearable Lightness of Eating

I'm trying to lose weight. I need to lose weight. I've fully embraced the idea that I need to lose weight. I've surrounded myself with things to inspire me to lose weight. I've cleared my kitchen and fridge of those things that would thwart my plan to lose weight. There is nothing more boring than having nothing in the house to eat other than high fiber treats and a variety of fruits and vegetables.

It's not a secret that one can buy any manner of meal replacement bars or low fat snacks that are supposed to "satisfy" but not add pounds. Most of them are good but all of them are some combination of grains, granola, nuts and chocolate. That doesn't sound bad, does it? What's not to like? The thing is, I love salty crunchy treats. (Someone dear to me would laugh to tell you that I am the potato chip queen... sigh... ) I wish, with all the wishes in my chubby little heart, that someone would create a snack that was low fat, high fiber, and satisfying that tasted just like Lay's Potato Chips or a nice bag of Flaming Hot Cheetohs! Is that too much to ask? And don't make it sweet and cover it with chocolate. I have nothing against chocolate. I love chocolate but I crave the crisp, salty goodness that only a potato chip can provide. And don't tell me about "baked" chips. Ick! That's like telling someone who loves a good steak that a slab of Styrofoam is an excellent substitute.

Just do it! Dammit...where are the Frito Lay people when you need them most.

I'd kill someone for a Cheetoh right now. Seriously.
