OUCH!

About a month ago, my right knew starting hurting. I'm used to some knee pain. My left knee has been a mess most of my life. I got hit by a car when I was about 9 and landed on the left knee. It's ached ever since but my right knee has always been good. Until last month.

I didn't injure it in anyway. It just started hurting. In particular, one spot at the right of my knee cap hurts. At first, a couple of Alleve or Ibuprofin would take the pain away but now nothing is working. It's gotten so bad that for the past couple of days I haven't been able to do to work. I'm seeing an orthopedic doc tomorrow so hopefully I'll get some answers and some kind of treatment. I need to be able to travel! I'm off to Sweden in a month and I have to be able to walk around!

I'm one of those people who hate going to the doctors for anything. I get that from my mom. As kids, we were rarely taken to a doctor unless it was absolutely necessary. Colds were treated with home remedies and love. Even when I got hit by that car, I wasn't taken to a doc! My mom assessed my damages the best she could and warned my never to ride my bike out in traffic again. She cleaned out my bleeding knee would with warm soapy water, slathered it with mercurochrome and gave me a band aid. That was it! In retrospect, it's a good thing I didn't have any internal injuries but that's the way it was growing up. We got hurt, we got over it.

I work with people who at the first sniffle are getting an antibiotic from their doc or going to the walk in clinic to get something. The last time I had an antibiotic was about three years ago when I got a wicked ear infection from swimming underwater too much. Ah well...

I'm off to a doc which means this pain is serious and I can't take it anymore. So, again, I'm hopeful this will be treated and I'll be able to get on with my life!
