A big change...

As I was scraping the frost off the inside of my windshield this morning and looking out over Lake Michigan, I realized that even though I am decidedly not a morning person, I will miss seeing the sunrise every morning on my way to work. You see, next week, my work hours change from 7am - 4om to 11am - 8pm each day. I could make a promise to myself to get up early and greet the day but I know me...that's just not going to happen! Given the choice between gorgeous sunrises and sleeping in I will opt to sleep in every time! Haha!

Still, this morning was stellar. The sun was shining on the Wisconsin side of the lake while an enormous dark cloud bank covered the Michigan side. I was going to take a photo to share but it was only 6 degrees F out there and that was just a little too cold to try to take the time to get the shot. You'll have to trust me, it was beautiful.

About scraping the inside of my windshield. I don't know if this is particular to my car or if it comes from living so near the lake. It's happened to every car I've ever owned so I don't think it's the car. I scrape the outside and then have to get in it and use my library card (it works the best for some reason) to scrape the ice off the inside so I can see to drive. I envy those people with those handy remote starters. Or better yet, those will garages to keep their car in. Normally, I don't mind parking on the street but in winter, it sucks. If it isn't dealing with the ice and snow, it's the ridiculous alternate side parking that gets to me. I already have one ticket this year because I lost track of if it was an even or odd night and which side that meant I was supposed to be on. Kenosha gets at least $60 a year from me in the winter. I have no memory for that kind of stuff. It's the same thing for which days are recycle days or not. Why can't we recycle everyday like normal people. In the meantime, my cardboard and blue bagged glass and cans are piling up because I always seem to miss the right day! Sheesh!

Anyway, I digress...

The lake was gorgeous today. I will miss the mornings just for that. But I will just have to be happy dreaming about the sunrise as I lay, snug as a bug in a rug, sleeping in while the rest of the world gets up and deals with the morning rush!
