Tax time...

I have a date with the tax man today. Actually, it's more like a visit with an old auntie since it's usually a middle aged woman over at HR Block that does my taxes. I both hate and kind of like this time of year. I hate the inconvenience of going out to have someone else do my taxes and having to pay them to do it. If I had half a brain, and any confidence in my math skills, I might tackle it myself but I don't (on both accounts) so it's off to the tax granny I go. (Poor lady is getting older as I write this apparently...)

I'm taking Alexander with me. He won't have to pay taxes until next year since we're still waiting for his Employment Approval Document from the government. But it will be his first exposure to our tax system here in the US so it will be good for him. And...I need the moral support. Which is really why I'm taking him. That other reason...that it will be good for him...just sounded good.

I do kind of like tax time too because I know that I pretty much get something back each year so it is a win/win situation. A neccesary evil I guess. So...off I go, W2s in hand...wish me luck!
