Yesterday, we had much to do. We brought an old keyboard to Stockholm from Karlstad and made arrangements to sell it on consignment here. We had to get this behemoth to the store, hence our need to have the rental car. As always, we start our journeys on a wing and a prayer. We'll have some address and a vague knowledge of how to get there and we start off driving the narrow streets of Stockholm pretty much hoping we're going in the right direction. After a few turns and some heated words we always seem to end up right where we need to be! It's amazing! So the keyboard and it's accouterments were dispatched and then we were on to Arlanda Airport to give our now beloved Volvo back.
Again, a vague sense of what direction we needed to be in and off we went! And again, we ended up exactly where we needed to be.
We rented from Hertz and I have to tell you this...
When we reserved our car we used my Visa Debit card. When we got to Hertz they told us there was going to be an additional "security deposit" that would be given back to us when we returned our car. For this we gave them our Mastercard. But on the invoice they put Mastercard but used the Visa number. This sent my checking account into an overdraft so we had to make a call to Hertz and to the bank to make this correct. Hertz took care of it and righted their mistake and the balance showed up being taken from my Mastercard account. Now, in checking the balance again there is nothing showing up at all so we're not quite sure what happened! I guess we wait and see.
Last night, after running all of our errands we went downstairs to the restaurant just outside our hotel. It is called All Star Sports Bar! Yes, in Sweden we ate American food. But I have to tell you that it was surprising to me to have to travel all the way to Sweden to eat the best burger I have ever had! It was the garlic and pepper burger and it was huge and had fresh garlic, tomato, red bell pepper and pepperoni on it with red onions and a creamy white sauce that was amazing! We washed it down with a strawberry milkshake that was so fresh! And sweet! Delicious meal! Go figure!
