I'm so tired. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night. There's nothing like a freshly sneezed cat loogie in your face to make you wake up...fast. Arnie was sharing. I cleaned my face and managed to fall back to sleep just in time for the phone to ring. It was Alex wanting to tell me about the new phone plan he found...at 4:30am Central Time. So now I'm sitting here at my desk at work with my eyes barely open staring at the internet...for hours on end. Occasionally someone comes in here to ask me a question or I get up and walk around the office for a few minutes but then I'm right back here...staring, yawning and dreaming of a nap.
It's 2:15 here now. I think I could probably convince my boss to let me go an hour early today. Sounds like a plan....

Glorious do nothing afternoons...
I went to work this morning resenting getting out of bed and having to go out even though the weather has changed and it was almost bearable. I soon realized that I had nothing pressing to take care of at work today so told my boss that I would like to leave at noon. He agreed! I have a great boss. So, made a few calls, answered a few questions and left at noon.
When I got home I ate some lunch (left over chicken) and settled down to finished reading a study of the handwalkers in Turkey. (Long story...check it out). After a while, I got a bit drowsy. Arnie climbed up on my lap and snuggled in for a nap and so I took his lead. I dozed off and had a lovely little nap. I had to get up and go drive my ex to get his car from the mechanic which was the only actual activity I HAD to do all day. Then I came back, decided jammies were the order of the day and that was that.
I suppose I should feel guilt that I pretty much puttered the day away but I don't. It was the perfect afternoon. I have some new stuff to read later if I feel like it. I have some home made beef stew courtesy of my sister to enjoy later. And it's so darn nice outside I'm thinking I might take a quick walk at the lake. All of this has done wonders to take my mind off all the things I am stressing about.
I highly recommend days like this for everyone.
