Monday comes in on great big whopping elephant feet..

Oi, I was not ready for Monday. I feel like I've been in this office for days on end which is probably because of the picnic shindig held here over the weekend. I had a really hard time getting going this morning. First, it's dark here in the AM so hauling my ass outta bed was a chore. Every part of me just kept telling me to go back to sleep. I almost convinced myself to do it too until I remembered I had a new case manager starting this morning. Not good if the boss is playing hooky on your first day...

Getting a new case manager here is always fun. The upper management is always caught off guard even though they're the ones who actually do the hiring. We never have a desk or, in most cases, even a cubicle set up for new people on the day they show up to start work. She came in this morning and it was a good two hours before they even got her a desk. Now she has a desk and a few walls but no computer or phone. I'm sure this makes new people feel very welcome.
